As Sun Valley Wedding Photographers, we absolutely love Trail Creek Cabin. First of all, the scenery is incredible. The surrounding area is something straight out of an adventure magazine. Second, the Sun Valley Lodge is just down the street and makes a perfect spot for the first look or family formals. Third, the grounds are amazing and provide a great variety of photo opportunities and available backdrops. Lastly, Bald Mountain can be seen in background of many of the images.

Hanna and Brandon’s Trail Creek Cabin Wedding did not disappoint. As Sun Valley Wedding Photographers, we have to be ready for any change in weather, timeline, and plans in general. For example, a lightning storm struck on the evening prior to their wedding, setting the hills nearby on fire. This left a horrendous smoke throughout the valley. Visibility of Bald Mountain was difficult on the day of the wedding, but it was not our only obstacle.

The thunder storm lingered all morning and dramatically altered the wedding day timeline. Originally, the couple’s first look was planned for Trail Creek Cabin with subsequent couple’s portraits down the road at the same location from their Sun Valley Engagement Session. However, the rain forced a change of plans. Thanks to their wedding planners, we were able to execute the first look in the Sun Room at the Sun Valley Resort, and it was 100% worth it! In the end, the weather cleared up and, other than the smoke and wind, rest of the day was an absolute dream.
