Best Friends Since 7th Grade
Home for me growing up was Spokane, Washington. That’s where I went to school. That’s where I met my husband, and that’s where I met my best friend. We met in 7th grade! She was the new girl in school and I was totally jealous of her, partly because we both liked the same guy.
It didn’t take me long to fall in love with her contagious personality, her loving parents, and her super cute brothers! But really, she is probably the most amazing person I’ve ever met! She is warm and kind, loving and caring, outgoing and seriously fearless. She has a smile that could fill anyone with light and love, and she is inspiring in every way!
We are nearly the same person
Have you ever had a friend who is nearly your clone? Well, we are definitely not the same enneagram type, but we truly finish each other’s sentences and think almost freakishly similar to one another. A few years back it had been a solid 10 YEARS since we had seen each other and we decided to go on a cruise together, just the two of us. On that cruise we would say the same things at the same time. When a song was on we would start singing and then both change to the harmony part at the same time. We would point thing out at the same time, laugh at the same time. Our personalities were totally on the same wavelength and we, legit, had not spoken more than 10 times in a 10 year period.
I Like Me Better When I’m With You
I have found that when I’m around her, I am the more confident, outgoing, fun version of myself. The one who doesn’t worry about insecurities, doubts, or failures. I don’t have to worry about saying the right, or the wrong, things. I can be as goofy as I really am and I do not once feel ashamed for it.
I’m so grateful to have married my person, Bryan, and to have a best friend who is the girl version of my person, Tara! Here are some of her family photos that I took while I was home last. Enjoy! And scroll farther for one last fun little story.
Our Babies are 1 Month Apart
Aka they are best friends too! When we call or leave a Marco Polo we always say “Hi Best Friend!” I am so excited for future trips, camping, and so many other fun memories for these little girls to make together. I hope they find the same friendship in each other that Tara and I have together.
But seriously, aren’t they just the cutest!!!
